Here are pictures of my 4th Grade students exploring, measuring, investigating, comparing, and recording data about living things (plants, tadpoles, chicks, mealworms). We even had the CGS Head of School come investigate mealworms with us.

How We Express Ourselves

​How We Express Ourselves is on of the PYP Units of Inquiry. During this unit the students explored the many ways people can express themselves (using nature, dance, sport, art, and so much more). Attached is a class created document that demonstrations how I have students reflect on their learning.

To the left is summation of our learning after exploring simple machines and being given the engineering task of using simple machines to assist my grandma with tasks around her home.

Use the QR reader app to watch students creating a Rube Goldberg machine. The students video taped and created their own QR code.

Additionally, this video is a great example of the incorporation of 'makerspace'. It demonstrates project-driven, self-directed learning, providing workspace to tinker, try out solutions, and hear input from peers with similar interests.
